I have a vested interest in reducing harm for the underserved, marginalized populations that are primarily queer and trans people who use drugs.
I've volunteered countless hours researching, and spreading harm reduction and drug policy information so that people may have better health and/or quality of life. Harm or risk reduction education is not limited to "drug checking" or knowing general substance facts.
Harm reduction must be intersectional.
I have very strong convictions and they not up for debate. Many people don’t see or experience the full fallout of crappy drug policy.
Y'all want me to trust people who have largely shown they are one-track minded, think psychedelics can fix everything like restoring psychedelic access to BIPOC is gonna save us.
Y'all want me to put my trust in people who benefit greatly from using my knowledge and perspective and labor for their projects and financial gain, to no financial gain of my own, or other mutual benefit.
Y'all want me to put my trust in people who argue with me and tell me I'm the problem for calling out harsh realities that make people uncomfortable.
There are hundreds of people I collaborate or communicate with that don't feel the courage to say anything about how they feel or what they see, so they agree with me me in private and thank me for doing so.
Nobody wants to catch the heat that I catch and I get that, but also, that's why I don't back down when I have these intellectual hands to throw, and need to advocate for underserved groups of people and the people trying to help these underserved groups of people.
I'm not going to be shamed for being cynical by people who haven't done harm reduction/social work a day in their life.
